Christmas Star

Just sharing this star with those of you who can use the GSD template file. I must warn you I have updated to RM 4.4, but I am working on getting back a copy of the older version. I would appreciate some feedback on the type of files everyone is using.

Watercolor Paper

Here are the results from a paper experiment and the finished project. After each photo is the details on how that look was achieved. Graphic  is Autumn Days by Laurie Furnell and can be purchased at

Graphic was given a drop shadow for a dimensional look and printed on gloss photo paper. Corner punch by Fisker was used on the corners. When printing on photo paper, make sure you use the photo gloss setting. Otherwise, too much ink is applied to the paper.

I was very pleased with the color result using Draft Fast Print setting. Usually I don't like this setting because it is too light, but on watercolor paper the color was just right. Ribbon and paper sticker sunflower were added for dimension. Graphic was cut around with designer scissors and chalked with green and brown mixture. The green background was embossed with Cuttlebug.

After printing graphic on watercolor paper, I sprayed heavily with water and brushed to achieve a watercolor look. I dabbed the color out to the edges. To enhance the edges a little more, brown chalk was added.
Graphic was printed on watercolor paper with plain paper setting for the ink. Trimmed around the edges of the graphic leaving just a little white, because of the ribbon curl. To tone down the white brown chalk was brushed on the edges. DCWV The Old World Stack, purchased at JoAnn's, was used for the background paper and mounted on tan card.

Witch Wrap

Need an idea for Halloween. How about a chocolate covered pretzel treat inside a cute little witch by Laurie Furnell. The measurements for the cover portion is 1 3/8" x 5/8" x 4 5/8".  I am including a picture of the layout. I would be happy to give you a template, but it really needs to fit the graphic. If you purchase this graphic and need the template let me know, I will be happy to share with you. Even though it is only a small portion, I have covered the graphic with a white triangle to save a little on ink. I used brochure 32 lb paper and the base is clued to a circle of cardstock.  My favorite method of double sided glue, ATG gun. With 7  pretzel packages in a box, I am in this cute treat less than fifty cents. You can purchase the graphics at

Canned Socks

Canned socks could be a fun gift for a teenage girl. You need a can openner that takes off the whole top edge. I like the cans that have the pull tops, but it is getting harder to find cans that you can take off the bottom.  Remove the label and add your own. Here is the poem I wrote for this occation:
Canned socks are surprising
And really a treat.
Some funky, some fun
They'll dress up your feet.
Of course I used graphics from Added a tag and tied it to the flip top with ribbon. Hope you try it, it was a big hit.

Interlocking Card

Have you ever finished a fun project and forgot to take a picture? This card was designed for friendship week for Andrea. I did not take a picture, but after several months of international wandering was returned. It took a lot to get the interlocking and folds just right. So to save you the head ache, I am including a PDF file. The cute kite flying duck is from Laurie Furnell's Just Ducky Collection. Graphics for the card below are from Cowgirl Up by Tina Ledbetter. Both can be purchased at
Here is the GSD file for those of you with a Craft Robo, Wishblade, or other. This card fits in a business size envelope.

Here's a seed packet filled with candy corn. The graphics can be found on The stitching graphics by Stephanie Spice.

The poem on the back is thanks to Nancy Kochsmeier. Printed several copies on a separate sheet and cut these and cut by hand. Here is the GDS template for the seed packet. This is an older file so I think everyone can use it. Here is a png for those of you how cut by hand.
